About Wild Reverie Ceramics
Hi, I'm Courtney Halwix — the maker behind Wild Reverie Ceramics.
A reverie is a daydream — the kind of wandering your mind does when you're somewhere quiet and the rest of the world falls away. Wild Reverie was born from exactly that feeling. From the way a walk in the woods or a few hours lost in a good book has a way of carrying your thoughts somewhere unexpected and bringing them back a little more whole. That's where this work comes from — and where it's always trying to return.
I've always been drawn to making things with my hands — sewing, crochet, embroidery — the kind of work that leaves you feeling grounded, curious, and a little bit free. Pottery found me the same way those things did: like something I didn't know I'd been looking for.
There's something about clay that feels honest. It starts as nothing and becomes something you hold your morning coffee in, something that sits on your shelf and catches the light just right, something that makes an ordinary Tuesday feel a little more like it matters. That's what I'm chasing when I'm at the wheel — not perfection, but presence. Pieces that feel lived-with and loved, that bring a small sense of calm and wonder into everyday life.
When I'm not in the studio, I'm usually out exploring with my family — on a trail, along a creek bank, or settled somewhere mossy with a good book while my kids investigate every rock and puddle in search of frogs and toads. For me, the woods and a good story have always been the places where my mind goes quiet and my imagination wanders furthest — and honestly, Wild Reverie grew from both of those places.
"And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul."
Wild Reverie Ceramics is about more than pottery. It's about small, meaningful moments — and sharing a little bit of that quiet wonder with you.
I'm so glad you're here.
